While South Florida has been spared thus far this summer, we still have many months until hurricane season is over. Last year Wilma left a trail of destruction over most of South Florida that we are still cleaning up. Hiring a good contractor or sub-contractor to make repairs to a condominium is always important, but with the amount of repairs needed throughout the region, one must always be aware of those taking advantage of the demand by offering services without the proper licenses. While many craftsman need to be licensed by a regulatory body to contract in the state, there are services, like tile repair, that are not regulated by the state. Word of mouth is a good way to find a worker, but it would be prudent to check with an experienced attorney to make sure you'll receive the services you are bargaining for. |
